Furmalities
A QR tag on a collar, and a way home.
Furmalities is a pet safety and recovery platform built around QR-coded ID tags. Anyone who finds a lost pet can scan the tag with a phone camera — no app, no login — and reach the owner, who is notified immediately.

The finder needs
No app
And no
Login
It hangs off
One tag
The problem
The person who finds your dog is a stranger with a phone.
They will not download an app. They will not create an account. They have a few minutes of goodwill and a camera, and whatever happens in those minutes decides whether the animal gets home.
The moment · awaiting capture
The Furmalities public scan page as a finder sees it, with the pet’s photo, description and a way to contact the owner
A recovery
From a found collar to a notified owner
- ScanPhone camera on the tag. No app, no login, nothing to install.
- SeeThe pet’s photo, a warm AI-written description, and the care details that matter.
- ReachA route to the owner — without publishing the owner on the open internet.
- NotifyThe owner is alerted the instant the tag is scanned.
- LocateWith the finder’s permission, their approximate location comes too.
The tension
Fast to reach, and still private.
Every minute of friction costs the animal, so the finder gets no barrier at all. But a public page carrying a name, a phone number and a home address is a different kind of risk. The product’s whole design sits on that line: enough to bring the pet home, and no more.
For the owner
What the app actually does
- OTP login — no password to forget
- One or many pets, each with its own profile and tag
- Mark a pet lost, and see every scan as it happens
- Payments and renewal reminders via Razorpay
- Replacement tags when one is lost with the collar
Behind it
Running the business, not just the app
- QR tag inventory, from blank stock to linked tag
- Scan history and notifications
- Verified vet and NGO partners for assisted onboarding
- Admin analytics
- An assistant that answers business-data questions in plain English
The AI, used twice
Once for the finder, once for the operator.
For a stranger holding a frightened animal, a warm description does more than a database row — it tells them what they are dealing with. For the team running the business, an assistant answers questions about the operation in plain English rather than in a report.
The range
One tag, or considerably more
- QR tagThe whole recovery flow, on its own
- QR collarThe tag, built into the thing it hangs from
